[Personal.] Plans for this website/blog?
Other than the things I expressed below, I’m also going to see if using those
[ ]tags at the start of my blog titles is a good idea.1
I think I’ve expressed my plans of changing how I use this blog, from posting my creative written work to posting just about anything I want. I guess I just want to talk about that again, since I’m in the mood for some typing.
I’m going to graduate in a month, and now, I think, is the perfect time to set up everything I need in order to get a job. I already have a few companies in mind, and I still have some projects to work on (both paid and unpaid), so I know that the only thing I really need to do is to actually send my resumes and portfolios to wherever.
But that’s where I’m kinda… stuck?
The thing is, I want to make a cool website for myself where I can showcase all my stuff. I’ve been wanting to do this since I was what, first year high school? And now I think that I have all the skills I need in order to make this happen. But my problem right now is that I don’t know where exactly to place it…
I’ve looked for those free web hosting sites, but I’ve never really stuck to one. It just feels so foreign to me, and the extra effort just isn’t something I want to constantly do, I guess.
That’s why I went back to this, my WordPress blog. The blog I’ve kept for the past… 4 years (?) or so. I know how to make WordPress themes now, and I’ve been thinking if I want to make this website the go-to website for everything that I do—from my past work, to the things I’m working on.
I hesitated a bit before because the thought of keeping and constantly updating a blog was not something I found appealing. I loved seeing those websites that were just one page portfolios, or a website with a few pages showing the usual About Mes and Showcases.
The more I think about making something similar to that, though, the more it becomes less appealing and more of a chore. It’s like making a boring landing page. Again. And I don’t want to do something boring.
Again, that’s why I went back to this site/blog. I might make a few changes on this site. I’m not sure if I’d really go for the full blog experience, or make the first page my resume thingy and then the blog is just hidden underneath. (I think I could go for the latter, though, and just make my resume one page that I constantly update and link to other people. Maybe.)
I just wanted to share some of my plans. Thanks for reading, whoever you are.
