Weeknotes 2026-02

Another week has passed! The first full working week was tough to get back into lol. I ended up mostly doing the bulk of my work in Thursday and Friday because I was a bit too distracted with updating stuff on my website at the start of this week, as you can see in my changelog 😛 (Oh and, yeah I started maintaining a changelog for my website so I don’t spam people with posts mostly talking about the things I tinker with here, and I so I can give myself “space” to talk about other things 😆)

I still don’t know how else I want to do these weeknotes. I guess if I want to really separate some ideas or thoughts, I’ll just use <hr> tags or *** in my Markdown. I think that works for me for now, as I do tend to ramble and I like seeing my thoughts laid out in paragraphs.

We recently finished rewatching 86 (anime) (link to dedicated anime media page pending) and man, I’m looking forward to watching the next season of this. I generally knew about the story and what kinda happened, but I didn’t remember the exact sequence of events and also when the reveals happened. It was nice seeing it all unfold again, heart-wrenching a story as it may be.

I’m going to Thailand next week! This isn’t my first time, nor is it my second, but I guess it’s technically still a new experience for me to travel somewhere and will mostly still work. I think we’ll still have a lot of time to do some more touristy things, and I’d definitely want to be there for my boyfriend so he could have a break from his startup life :))

I’m also coming to terms with the realization that I have been traveling a lot more now, and not just for work. These are technically leisure trips! I’m happy I get to do this now, as I didn’t really have that many opportunities before. I have the money to do so now, and also the time and energy, so I might as well do it while I can hehe

In relation to the previous section, I also want to eventually log all the trips I’ve done in my website too. Even past trips. It’ll take some effort to remember what I did though, like the time I did my first ever solo travel to Taiwan back in 2023. I don’t even remember now why I decided to do that, maybe it had something to do with having to use up some remaining Travel Fund in my airline account that was going to expire soon, but it was a nice experience that I’d like to repeat again.

I have lots of photos from that time as I initially intended to make a vlog out of it, but I never really managed to do that lol. I also have some footage when I first visited Singapore in 2024, which I also didn’t get to post all of it because by the time I got back to the Philippines again, I got eaten up by the idea that maybe no one wants to see this anyway kinda thoughts. I realize now that that’s wrong, and I was just poisoned by the social media mindset to want likes and attention1, so now I want to reclaim a bit of that energy a bit and do my future self a favor and write stuff down.

I’m happy that more people in my circles are taking interest in setting up their own websites now. And some are even asking me about Astro! We might even host a watercooler session—what we call our knowledge-sharing sessions we do within the Tambayan 404 community—and do it around end of the month. I want to talk more about it too and share my own setup and how to get things set up.

Now that I think about T404, maybe I could also make use of the new knowledge I’ve attained from reading thru microformats, at least in terms of sharing about events. I’ve been mulling over creating a page that’s dedicated to sharing about events of things that are hosted here in the Philippines, but I just don’t know what else you can do with it or how else it could be made interactive. I guess I’ll just learn that in the future when the need arises.

There’s also creating a webring for Tambayan 404 members. It’s been something we’ve had as a TODO for a while since the community and the server started, but all 3 Tanods2 got busy with our lives the past… few years (😆) and I personally have only gotten a more steady foothold this past year. I’ve had this article from CSS Tricks opened and saved for the longest time, but I just haven’t gotten around to doing it yet as I had a lot of other projects I wanted to work on first. But maybe it would be better to start with this instead and see where it goes from there. We already have the domain to host it too, so … maybe it’s time 😁

Okay, only a few minutes left until 12MN strikes again and I am here updating shit to my website again 😂 I’ll end it here for now so it can still count as an update made on a Friday 😝

If you read until here, thanks for taking the time! Hope you have a great rest of your weekend~ 👋

Footnotes

  1. It still wouldn’t hurt to get some attention, but I’m doing my best to learn not to make such a big deal out of it + it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get too many people noticing stuff I do. That’s fine. This is for future me.

  2. That’s what we call moderators in Tambayan 404. To explain a bit, it’s a reference to how we’re called “Tambays” or “stand bys” as a better English explanation for it and usually in barangays, there’s a Tanod or someone who would stand guard and be the one supervising people in a particular area. My other fellow Tanods are Sam and Richard 😁
