Weeknotes: 2026-04

I already missed the true “3rd” week for weeknotes because I was busy last Friday 😆 Oh well, I think I intended to use the weeknotes to note the actual week number and not to enumerate my own use of weeknotes :))

I’ll still be able to see how many weeknotes I’ve made by checking the list of posts with that tag, but otherwise I think this format would be more sustainable for me in the long run 😆😁

I am making a mental note to remember all the things we’ve done since the start of our Thailand trip because I still haven’t had the time to put together the “Travel Log” list—which should just be similar in nature to how Manga and Anime are organized currently—since we’ve just mostly been moving around a lot while in the city, and the most I could do with the time we have was to do some work.

We did a lot of things last week, even considering that a huge chunk of those times were us also just staying in one place since we1 had to work. It’s really nice that the closest Starbucks we have here allows their customers to get access to free WiFi, and it’s not the “1-hour only” types that I’m so familiar with back home. It’s around… 14 to 15 hours of free WiFi? Definitely helps remote workers like me! I also see a bunch of other customers who get a drink or even a snack and do the same thing we do there for a few hours. Just as intended with cafés like this.

This weeknote might be short and sweet for now as I’m only stealing a couple of minutes in my work day to write this update. I’m already thinking of how I could set it up so I could do these “updates” or blog posts on the go, considering I already do that in a way with my Personal Obsidian vault (and I have a subscription now for the syncing at least). I think it should be doable, just needs some setup, and I want to test that hypothesis I have and set it up myself before I try to search a solution online. It’s probably (and most likely) already been done before.

Before I end this note, I want to call back to a few posts I made last week (because, despite not being able to write a weeknote for that week, I still tried to make some “micro” posts 😆):

There’s also the thought of mimicking other sites in terms of how they lay out their RSS feeds2, where people can choose what they want to “subscribe” to—makes sense though!—and they have feeds for everything, or just link posts, or just micro posts, or even long form ones. That helps others who do this for a living and/or they want to “organize” how their feed is presented to others… but I don’t know if I personally want to go to that level of granularity with my posts just yet. I don’t really follow a set structure either 😆 It might just be completely unnecessary to do.

Last brainfart to share here: I considered saving a geolocation note in some of my posts just in case I do this again while moving and I want to remember that I wrote certain posts in a different location altogether 😆

But considering how that’s not smart in certain situations (exposing your live location is a bit… scary) plus how I want to have a Travel Log set up anyways, I think I’ll just go with listing the things in the Travel Log. Maybe that’s where I can mention what blog posts I wrote or put together while I was in a different location! Yeah. I think that’s a good way to start.

I do want to write more, but I’m aware the more time I spend doing this, the less time I have to finish some tasks for work 🙈 So I guess I’ll leave it until here!

Footnotes

  1. Well… mostly me. This is technically the “vacation” of my partner 😝 but he’s also still finishing certain tasks as he also needs to get some stuff done :))

  2. In my case, I only really have Atom feeds, but it seems to function the same as RSS, so I’ll just refer to it as such until I learn otherwise that it should be referred differently from RSS 😆
