I started this when we just got a new PS5 Pro. Initially I was just watching my boyfriend play it, since he was the one who bought it initially, but as I kept watching him play, I kept wanting to know how the parries and dodges work as I’d see him fight different characters in the game. I would think to myself, wait, that was parryable! How hard is it to parry or dodge? I’m starting to understand their attack patterns 🧐
(I then learn that he was playing in Hard mode. So obviously it would be more difficult to get the timing right 😂)
I finished the game in Normal mode and understood that… getting the timing of the parries and dodges is hard. But when you manage to figure it out and get consecutive hits in, boy oh boy does it feel great.
I loved being able to use different weapons with Atsu. I also super love the graphics of riding my horse around the wide plains of Ezo, and even the times when you’d have to climb mountains just to see shrines or talk to someone. The game is breathtaking.
I managed to 100% the Base Game too, right before they released the update where you can do New Game+!
I’m currently in the middle of doing New Game+, but haven’t gotten around to continuing it since the story is still fresh in my head. I do want to continue so I could get more of the dyes and the different kinds of armor for Atsu, though. They’re all so pretty and badass.
