2023

OK, re-reposting the first archived blog post seemed to work well. The links have definitely been broken though lol but I guess that’s also on me for constantly changing website setups for the past few years 😅

I have some thoughts, but I’ll reserve them until later. 😆

I just remembered that I did have some blog posts posted back in 2021 that I could migrate here. Please excuse me as I share some old content. 😆

Will just append when it was originally posted hahaha

I like that you can only edit replies in micro.blog after 24 hours. That makes the most sense for me in the conversation context. If you did want to correct yourself, then you could append it with another reply. But it wouldn’t erase what you said initially.

Asking the crowd: adding alt text / descriptions in micro.blog uploaded images?

Alt text question for iOS / mobile micro.blog posters: other than the website, are there other apps that allow you to add alt text before you (cross)post an image? I tested it a bit with the micro.blog iOS app and @gluon, but both don’t seem to let me add them when I tap the image; instead, it removes (?) the image I just uploaded or asks if I want to make the image inline my post instead 😅

I need more comfy cardigans. 😅

Finally got my public Twitter archive. Not sure what actual benefit that’ll be for others to see my old tweets, but I guess there is merit to look through what I’ve posted and shared in the past?

The account was started around the time I started working. 7 years of my life. 😆

    look at this: www.thingiverse.com/thing:138…

    it’s so CUTE 😤 😻

I apologize if I’m really noisy now, posting so many random thoughts 🙈 I feel very empowered with the apps I’m using now to just share thoughts online 😆

It feels refreshing to feel like I’m living again. ☺️

Sharing my outfit from yesterday when I went to the office. First time wearing pants after a long while! I used up all my skirt outfits recently so I figured I could change things up a bit for myself 😄 📷

I have my eyes on a specific trifold folding bike… but I need to sell my current duofold Bickerton folding bike first. 😆 As a fellow cyclist friend said, “unload to reload” hahaha

I’ve had my foldie for around a year now, I think. This should be fine 😁

The posting pipeline for me now is:

    • post something on micro.blog
    • check on Mastodon and BlueSky for any neat mentions (if it’s a short post)
    • scroll thru both feeds whil I’m there

    let’s go lmao

I wonder if there’s also a concept of “threads” here once you’ve posted one thing?

Should I just use the reply functionality like how I would in other “microblogging” places like Twitter and Mastodon?

This would be different from making an actual long post 😅

Hello, world! Currently posting from Gluon. 😁 I’m also gonna try and poke around the official Micro.blog iOS app this time around, and I’ll see which one sticks.

(maybe Gluon because of the “glue” reference? lol 😝)

Maybe for the meantime I’ll explore any of these alternative apps. Looking at Gluon.

OK, before I sleep: can confirm, trying to sign in the iOS app for micro.blog via the link sent thru email just opens a blank page and does nothing in the app itself 🥲 @help? 😅

Yay my metatags work 😁 Got to use the Metatags Plug-in by @manton and just tested it out. Woohoo 🥳

I want to eventually figure out how Categories work in micro.blog. I already have so many ideas. 😆

There’s also uploading photos of my bike, maybe myself, and other cool stuff I wanna share to the world 😄

I would also just like to say, @Burk ’s website is goals. 😆 Super cool and neat! I kinda wanna emulate some parts hehe

If you haven’t seen it, check it out here: grepjason.sh

As a fellow “likes a bit of everything” person, I love how there’s a bit of everything hehe

Gonna explore eventually making public, online lists of the things I like.

Also gonna explore sharing thoughts in Taglish more here 😁
